Caregiver Stress

Being a Caregiver is stressful, and being a caregiver during the holidays is especially stressful.  I can’t encourage you enough to take care of yourself.  Eat right, get a good night’s sleep, and take time for yourself.  We all know that we should do these things, but it’s easier said than done.  We all think we can handle the stress.

Here are some signs that caregiver stress may becoming a problem, and need some attention.

 1. Denial about the disease and its effect on your loved one.

 2.  Anger about limited treatment and that others don’t understand.

 3.  Social Withdrawal from events that used to be fun.

 4.  Anxiety about the future and facing another day.

 5.  Depression affects your ability to cope.

 6.  Exhaustion keeps you from completing necessary daily tasks.

 7.  Sleeplessness caused by a never-ending list of concerns.

 8.  Irritability leads to moodiness and negative responses and reactions.

 9.  Lack of concentration when performing familiar tasks.

10.  Health problems begin to take their toll, mentally and physically.

If you are experiencing any of these…it’s time to start dealing with your stress.  Call Able HealthCare Services and see how we can help.
